I was contacted by an individual named Jason Giles, who claimed to be a crypto investment agent working for a company called MegaExchangeTrade (https://megaxchangetrad.com). We initially communicated via Facebook, but he later moved our conversations to email, stating his Facebook account was “under maintenance.”

He instructed me to send my crypto to a wallet address he provided, and he claimed he was investing it on my behalf. The platform showed my balance growing rapidly — eventually showing over $77,000 in profit from just a few thousand dollars invested. However, when I attempted to withdraw funds, Jason informed me that I needed to pay a 20% commission fee (over $15,000) upfront in Bitcoin before accessing any of my money.

When I asked why the fee couldn’t be deducted from my balance, he said it “doesn’t work that way.” This raised suspicions. I later discovered multiple red flags — including a misspelled domain, unregulated website, lack of transparency, and classic scam behavior.

I have not sent the 20% fee. I am reporting this scam to help prevent others from becoming victims.
