Eight years ago “Jercos<\/a>” sold “Laszlo” 2 pizzas for 10,000 BTC. It was the first transaction in bitcoin history for an economic good or service. At the time 1 BTC was $USD00.08. <\/p>\n

The Case for Papa John’s<\/strong><\/p>\n

Laszlo’s pictures link<\/a> on bitcointalk.org is now dead but the images live on in cyberspace and clearly show a Papa John’s pizza box with sauce in the corner and everything. Several books have been published referencing Papa John’s based on these images. <\/p>\n

The Case for Domino’s<\/strong><\/p>\n

Jercos remembers it was Domino’s in a 2015 interview<\/a> with BitcoinWhosWho.com.<\/p>\n

I\u2019m starting to really regret not keeping chat logs of the event, as I clearly remember Domino’s pizza (right down to their particular web interface)…<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

And the bitcoin.it wiki entry on Laszlo<\/a> also specifies Domino’s.<\/p>\n

Laszlo Hanyecz (laszlo) made the first documented purchase of a good with bitcoin when he bought two Domino’s pizzas<\/strong> from jercos for 10,000 BTC.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Will these conflicting reports ever be resolved? Could it be possible that Laszlo didn’t post the right images? Does Jercos have a bad memory?<\/p>\n
